Hello
authors and editors,
For more detail on us
and what interests us, please also see publishers.
In general we are
interested only in publications (paper or online, book or periodical)
that are published in English (all or part). Expats in Japan (and
former expats) and Japanese who write in English are especially
welcomed as are those who have self-published or published through a
small press that has little or no distribution power.
JPGS
(Japan Publications Guide Service) enters publications into our
databases. From there we produce paper and online products such
as JPGS Lite.
Basic listing is free. We are only interested in publications that
relate in some way to Japan
and/or East/Southeast Asia. We are
interested in all such English publications, both commercial and
non-commercial, priced or unpriced, with or without the appropriate
ISBN or ISSN. The easy way to become listed is
for you to send us one copy of each new publication.
Our associate is KK IMCBOOK also
known as imcbook or just IMC.
They are book distributors and
retailers selling throughout Japan and
online, http://imcbook.net. For
overseas publishers and authors KK IMCBOOK is a doorway to distribution
in
Japan. We are not the biggest/best distributor, but we care. For
authors in Japan, we reach into the USA, Asia, Europe, etc. Small
company but with over 50
years in the business; a niche player in publications distribution in
Japan. Our
specialties range from aerospace and business, from photography to
travel guidebooks, and, of course, expat literature.
JPGS will help you publicize your book. KK IMCBOOK
may
help you sell it. The truth is that most books are doomed from birth to
be commercial
failures even if academic, historic, literary or technical products of
great merit. This is of no concern to JPGS, and many authors publish
for
reasons other than profit, but we must make a profit, or at least
break even. KK IMCBOOK will do its best for you, but we suggest that
you
also search for other sales channels. On a case by case basis, we may
be able to make some suggestions, but we have found that each book is a
world unto itself and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
