    When the JPGS began about 20 years ago it collected information on English periodicals, books, and their publishers in Japan. There was no internet then and there was no Amazon. There was no Google or Yahoo to help you find companies and almost everything else. Today, we are wasting time duplicating what many others do better. The newly updated JPGS website will take advantage of the information already online. We will also link with kk imcbook which sells books, and others.
    The focus will remain "Japan" and "information" in English. We will include both current and old titles; we will not be complete but we will include many titles that are not listed by online booksellers. And, finally, we will try to find a good way to handle online/electronic publications and information.
    As in the past, most of what JPGS puts online will be available to you free. Some detail will be available only to registered users. Other services must be charged as they require human time and expense on our part.
